You Bet Press is the first (and probably only) digital press in You Bet. That is probably because You Bet’s heyday was in the 1850’s. It was a gold mining town.
This is what Exploring Nevada County says:
This mining camp, established between 1858-1860, consisted of 40 or 50 buildings by 1864. A school house was built midway between You Bet and Red Dog. The town was destroyed by fire in April 1869, partially rebuilt, and burned again in September 1873 and August 1915. The courts halted most hydraulic mining in 1884, but gold mining continued until the 1940s. The You Bet post office was closed in 1903.
